The procurement body will set out its plans in a Teams meeting on 17 June as it gears up to replace its current four-year construction framework, which expires in September 2027.
The new framework will cover public sector construction, refurbishment, demolition and civil engineering work across the UK and is expected to support projects for NHS trusts, local authorities, housing providers and wider public sector bodies.
The framework will be split into three lots covering minor, intermediate and major works.
Lot 1 will handle regional projects up to £5m, Lot 2 will cover schemes between £5m and £15m, while Lot 3 will provide a national route for major projects above £15m.
NHS SBS said the replacement framework would continue to support a broad mix of public sector works ranging from simple refurbishments and extensions to large-scale complex developments.
The current framework contains a host of major contractors and regional builders delivering projects under both competitive mini-competitions and direct award routes.
Under the new deal, suppliers will face strong scrutiny on sustainability and social value commitments, which will account for 10% of tender scoring alongside 60% quality and 30% commercial weighting.
NHS SBS said the framework would remain open to SMEs and voluntary sector organisations alongside larger national contractors.
